Explore the mysterious world of Infrared photography with a specially converted infrared camera for you to use we will explore a number of locations in the Yorkshire Dales that are ideal for this type of photography, it will cover wooded areas, streams, limestone pavements and the iconic big skies that this area is known for. Join me for a day devoted to IR photography based in the Yorkshire Dales.
The Yorkshire Dales photography workshop is a wide ranging expedition that covers some of the notable beauty spots in this area of outstanding natural beauty. Beginning in the Ingleton area we explore the limestone pavement of Twistleton Scar and the otherworldly erratics before moving on to Ribblehead viaduct, Malham, Goredale Scar, Janet's Foss waterfall and Scaleber Force. There will be ample photographic opportunities en-route as the light and conditions change. This is an excellent opportunity to explore some of North Yorkshire's gems from an infrared point of view. If you want to use your own camera you are perfectly welcome, you would just need a screw in IR filter for your lens, please be aware that you will need to use a tripod for your shots as your shutter speed will be slower than cameras that have been specially converted. With these cameras you are able to shoot at normal shutter speeds.
There is the opportunity to book a post processing day at the reduced cost of £80 I will show you my workflow to bring out the best from those raw files, we will look at Black and White conversion, levels, curves and printing fine art B&W infrared images. Each client will take away two 50 X 40 cm prints as part of the workshop fee. There really is no better way to develop your craft than by 'getting out there and doing it'. I will provide you with a friendly, fun and informative workshop experience that will, I am sure, leave you with some memorable images to add to your portfolio.
